Resume at a glance:
I am K.M.Taj-Biul Hasan. I was born in 1965 at Dhaka, Bangladesh. I am an Educational Filmmaker and Photographer. My special interest is on Environment and Sustainable Development.
I got my B.Sc.(Hon’s) degree in Zoology and M.Sc. degree in Fisheries from the Dept. of Zoology- The University of Dhaka . Due to lot of interest on film and audio-visual media, I adapt my self with this profession after completing my formal schooling and subsequently completed my Diploma in Photography (Dhaka -1989) & Diploma in Film Making (New Delhi -1992). Later on, in 1993 I joined our Govt. Broadcasting service as a Higher Executive Officer in post of an Educational Program Producer (Television & Radio) and Documentary filmmaker. I made my self-retirement from the government service in April 2011 and started to work independently. So far I produced; 150 educational Television and 45 Radio Programs as well as made 03 features and 24 documentaries since April 2012. Most of my productions are on the Sustainable development, Environmental issue and Human development. I received professional training from BBC Open University (Cambridge), CENDIT (New Delhi), Deutsch Welle Television Training Centre (Berlin), NIMC (Dhaka) and NHK (Tokyo) on Television production and film-making. A good number of my films and Television programs got the International awards and appreciations. Mostly in 2007 and 2010, I made a historic record by winning two times, the most prestigious & highest award on educational film competition of the world “The UNESCO Japan prize” for two of my documentaries – “Education on the Boat–Hope for Tomorrow ”(based on environment & education ) and “The light of Life” (based on human development) respectively. So far, I presented papers and conducted workshops in 28 International conferences and seminars around the world on-‘Technique of Educational Filmmaking’, ‘Environmental education’ and ‘e-learning’. I have also publications in the reputed international journals. I am also a member of UNESCO Audio-visual e-Platform (Belgium) , BPS (Bangladesh Photographic Society), Zoological Society of Bangladesh and AMIC (Asian Media Information & Communication Centre) Singapore. I made professional visit in many countries of Asia, Europe and Africa.
