The WEEC Congress, which is unique in the world and takes place every two years, outlines the major experiences in environmental education, divided by subject, and presents them to the whole world. In the 2013 edition, we will not only develop the cross-cutting issues that
illustrates the relationship between cities and rural areas, seeking greater harmony, but we will associate also eleven thematic niches that embrace topics ranging from intercultural dialogue to ethics and health. The proposed themes may therefore include various important contents that passionate educators as well as environmental professionals.

With the 2013 edition, the WEEC celebrates its 10th anniversary. The first congress was held in Portugal in 2003. Editions that followed were held in Brazil in 2004, Italy in 2005, South Africa
in 2007, Canada in 2009 and Australia in 2011 (for more information about previous editions, see www.environmental-education.org).

Our appointment in 2013 thereby represents a new opportunity to offer a national and international audience to the latest best practices and reflections and share experiences around issues related to environmental education.
With a view to enhancing cultural diversity, the Congress is multilingual, adopting 4 official languages: Arabic, English, French, and Spanish. It is organized according to ecological principles: Zero carbon emissions, zero waste and local food.
